We stopped in after draw dropping our airplane off to have repaired and this is the cutest little place the girls were excellent servers and my shanty salad was simply amazing!! I would make two requests for it... replace the cheese with goat cheese and add some French onion for a little extra crunch Love love love this place will definitely be back

A Hidden Gem in Higginsville – Unforgettable BBQ and Outstanding Service From the moment we walked into The Little Red Shanty BBQ Joint, we knew we were in for something special. The rustic charm and warm, welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home, but it was the service—and the food—that truly set this place apart. Our server, Morgan, was an absolute standout. She kept our drinks topped off with perfect timing and genuine friendliness, and it was clear she truly enjoys what she does. Her energy and attentiveness made our meal feel more like a dinner with friends than a night out at a restaurant. We felt like valued guests in her care. As for the food—wow. I had the BBQ pork ribs, and they were everything you want from great barbecue: tender, juicy, and practically falling off the bone with each bite. My family tried the BLT and the Brisket wrap, and both were devoured with enthusiastic approval. Every bite was full of smoky, satisfying flavor. We couldn’t resist taking a piece of ooey gooey butter cake to go, and it was the perfect sweet finish to an incredible meal—rich, buttery, and just the right amount of indulgent. If you’re anywhere near Higginsville, do yourself a favor and stop by The Little Red Shanty. Come hungry, leave happy—and if you’re lucky enough to have Morgan as your server, you’re in for an exceptional experience.

Such a cute, friendly place with great food. They make their own chips with a few seasoning options. Highly recommend trying the chips. They have a VERY LARGE alcohol selection. I would guess just about anything you want. They also have some really cute items for sale as wells as a candy section with some old fashioned types you don’t see much any more.

It has to be one of the best BBQ I ever had hands down. The meat is super juicy and the flavor is on point.. you have to try it for yourself you won't regret it . att a guy just happen to driving by

What a find! On a shopping and exploring trip in the area we ate here and wow! Amazing food and the best service from Carol S. A friend recommended this place a now so do I. We shared a chicken wrap so we could share a dessert. Yummy! We shared the apple cake, one of the desserts of the day. Oh la la!

Fabulous pulled pork sandwich & Shanty burger. Country charm as far as the eye can see. Very clean & attentive, friendly wait staff. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

Red Shanty has hands the best the best barbecue I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The brisket was fantastic. The homemade chips are great. We ordered 2 pieces of the amazing butter cake and 2 more to go. Large portions and more than fairly priced. Service was so friendly and speedy, too in a great atmosphere. Can’t recommend highly enough.

The brisket wrap was exceptionally good! Plenty of chopped brisket in the wrap. I was very pleased. The flavor was excellent. We enjoyed the Vodoo seasoned cowboy chips, and The trinity sandwich and pulled pork sandwich was also very good and plentiful. You get what you pay for. You'll leave happy and satisfied! Our server was very good as well. I don't remember her name but she was a young long-haired blonde girl. Very personable and efficient!
